Christening of the new sea rescue boat WOLFGANG PAUL LORENZ

On Saturday 12 October 2019, after a construction time of eleven months, we launched our eighth 10.1 m class SAR boat for the German Maritime Search and Rescue Association DGzRS. At this occasion, we had once more the honour to welcome Ms. Lorenz, who had already been our guest at the keel laying ceremony last year when the vessel was still only known as “SRB 75”.

She christened the boat the “Wolfgang Paul Lorenz”, after her late husband and sponsor of the vessel. At this point, the new SAR boat had already completed her two-day maiden voyage from the coast of Mecklenburg to Friesland, which gave the crew the opportunity to get to know the vessel prior to her first rescue mission.

The “Wolfgang Paul Lorenz” is now based at the volunteer lifeboat station of Horumersiel. We wish her crew fair winds and following seas!
