STS boat for the German Navy christened with the name “Schleswig”

With a solemn ceremony on 16 March 2023 at the pier of TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH, the first STS boat (securing, transport, towing) newly built for the German Navy was christened “Schleswig”. Godmother Mrs. Susanne Ross, head of the council of the district town of Schleswig in Schleswig-Holstein, traditionally wished the workboat “a good trip all the time”. The “Schleswig” is the first of two STS boats commissioned by the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 71 in Eckernförde. For TAMSEN MARITIM, this is the first newbuilding order from the German Navy. The STS boats of the 744 class, each 20 metres long, are an in-house development and will both be delivered to the client this year.
