Suppliers Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct applies to our suppliers.

Our Supplier Code of Conduct is intended to provide guidance to our suppliers and business partners to help them avoid undesirable conduct. Our goal is to ensure sustainable procurement in compliance with minimum social and environmental standards throughout the entire supply chain of TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH. TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH values its good relationships with its suppliers and business partners and expects them to comply with and support the principles of this TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH Supplier Code of Conduct.

We adhere to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and its goals regarding human rights, labor standards, the environment and climate, and business ethics. We also expect compliance with the fundamental conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and applicable national and local laws and regulations.

Occupational Safety and Health

The safety and health of all employees are of the utmost importance to TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH. It therefore goes without saying that we also expect our suppliers and business partners to prioritize the safety and health of their employees and to ensure that the necessary training has been completed before work begins. Our business partners must promote the safety and health of their employees and comply with occupational safety and health regulations in order to reduce the risk of accidents.

Human Rights

We expect our suppliers to respect internationally recognized human rights and labor standards. TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH and its business partners oppose all forms of discrimination. Business partners must support and respect the human rights principles of the UN Global Compact (Principles 1 and 2) and the labor principles of the UN Global Compact (Principles 3, 4, 5, and 6).

Environmental protection

TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH is committed to continuously assessing and reducing its environmental impact. Our goal is to prevent environmental damage and minimize our energy and resource consumption. Our suppliers and business partners must comply with all environmental laws and regulations applicable to the workplace, the products manufactured, and the manufacturing methods. Furthermore, suppliers must not use any materials considered harmful to the environment. Suppliers must respect and support the environmental principles of the UN Global Compact (Principles 7, 8, and 9). Furthermore, we expect suppliers to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding conflict minerals. We encourage our business partners to establish and maintain an appropriate environmental management system and energy management system (e.g., in accordance with ISO 14001 or a national equivalent).

Business Ethics

Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery

The supplier must not engage in or tolerate any form of corruption, extortion, embezzlement, or bribery. All applicable anti-corruption and anti-bribery regulations must be complied with, including Principle 10 (Anti-Corruption) of the UN Global Compact. The supplier must not offer or accept any benefits or other unlawful inducements to obtain an unjustified or inappropriate advantage.

Gifts and Favors

To avoid any unwanted conflicts of interest, the supplier may not offer TAMSEN MARITIM employees any gifts, favors, services, or inappropriate invitations. Offering a gift in the form of a cash payment is not permitted under any circumstances.

Combating Money Laundering

Our suppliers and business partners must conduct all business in accordance with applicable anti-money laundering regulations.

Data Protection and Information Security

Our suppliers and business partners must treat and protect confidential and other proprietary information they receive in the course of their business relationship with us as strictly confidential. Sensitive information of any kind may not be used to pursue their own interests or disclosed to third parties. We, in turn, guarantee this same level of confidentiality to our business partners and protect the information we receive from them. We support data security and data processing through appropriate technical and organizational measures. Our suppliers and business partners must ensure that all data is processed in accordance with applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679).

Reporting Violations and the Duty to Cooperate

Suppliers and business partners of TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH are required to report to TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH any violations of this Code of Conduct committed by themselves and/or third parties, to cooperate without reservation, and to actively provide information. If, in cases of suspected violations, they fail to sufficiently fulfill their obligations to provide clarification and cooperate, TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH may terminate the business relationship with immediate effect based on existing contractual or statutory rights. In the event of a violation of this Code of Conduct, TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH reserves the right to take further legal action, in particular to seek damages.

Compliance with the Principles of the Code of Conduct in the Supply Chain

The suppliers and business partners of TAMSEN MARITIM GmbH are required to ensure that their own suppliers and business partners also comply with the principles set forth in this Code of Conduct.
