Second STS boat for the Bundeswehr named “Holstein“

With a festive ceremony on 29 August 2023 at the TAMSEN MARITIM shipyard, a newly built STS boat (security, transport, towing) for the Bundeswehr was christened “Holstein”. 

Godmother Eva Christina Haack from the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 71 (WTD 71) in Eckernförde traditionally wished the workboat “a safe journey at all times”. The “Holstein” is the second of two STS boats commissioned by the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 71. 

For TAMSEN MARITIM, this is the first newbuilding order for the Bundeswehr. The STS boats of the 744 class, each 20 metres long, are an in-house development. The first STS boat “Schleswig” was christened at TAMSEN MARITIM in spring 2023.
